Cradle to Cradle Certified™ is a globally recognized distinction for the safest and most-sustainable products made for the circular economy. Werner & Mertz was the first company in Europe to receive the prestigious Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute gold award for businesses that manage their production in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle® principle, in closed cycles for maximum production sustainability. Cradle to Cradle™ is the opposite of the widespread Cradle to Grave principle, in which materials often flow from source to disposal without conscious consideration of long-term protection of natural resources.

EMAS

The EU's environmental certification system to assess, improve and manage companies' environmental performance. Registration in the EMAS system means that an organization meets the most strict environmental protection requirements and the prestige of belonging to a group of companies that operate in accordance with the principle of sustainable development.

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001 standard confirms that the company manages the quality of its product development properly. This international standard defines and certifies the quality management system.

ISO 14 001

The most frequently used standard in environmental management, based on the principle of continuous improvement of environmental performance by limiting the environmental impact of the company's operations. Unique plastic pouches 100% recyclable!

Your favourite products of the brand Frosch are now available in standing pouches that are 100% recyclable - including the cap and spout. In contrast to most packaging types for pouches, these are made completely of only one type of material - polyethylene (PE), which enables full recycling.

85% of the pouches surface is unprinted, transparent plastic, which allows for recyling without loss of material quality. Additionally, compared to a standard bottle with trigger, the pouch uses 70% less plastic! By using refill packaging you are caring for the environment.

At Werner & Mertz, we contribute to change the world for the better every single day, which is why since 2014 in the production of our cleaning agents and detergents we have been using plastic bottles made of 100% used plastic (recyclate) and that are 100% recyclable. So far, we have introduced over 600 million of these recycled PET bottles onto the market and thanks to this, we have saved over 15,000 tons of raw material. If we were to put them all into one giant bottle, it would be 459 meters high and 218 meters wide!

They are gentle on the skin, based on natural ingredients, and sold in innovative recycled packaging – which is good for our planet!

INNOVATION - FIRST 100% RECYCLABLE PLASTIC POUCH

Within the scope of the Recyclate Initiative, Werner & Mertz has reached yet another milestone on the way to a genuine circular economy. The world's first completely recyclable pouch is made of monomaterial (polyethylene) with a removable label in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle® principle. This is thanks to a four-year joint project by Werner & Mertz and packaging company Mondi. This innovative, patented pouch design solves the problem of recycling printed plastic – 85% of the packaging material is not printed and can therefore be recycled without any loss of quality. Because the remaining 15% – the printed label – is free of adhesives and bonding agents, it too can flow back into new uses.

The patented stand-up pouch is the first packaging that complies with the three 'R's – reduce, reuse and recycle. It can be completely recycled, so the plastic remains in the closed material loop. Compared with a bottle, the pouch saves 70% of packaging material for the same amount of product!

TIPS & TRICKS FOR SENSITIVE SKIN

Our skin is a miracle of nature. It repairs itself and protects the body from external influences. However, people with sensitive skin often suffer from allergic reactions and itching. This makes it all the more important for clothes to be soft and cuddly and feel comfortable against the skin. The right choice of detergent plays an important role here. With the skin-friendly Frosch detergents you are in safe hands!

All of detergents are made from a particularly skin-friendly formulas, which are well tolerated by people with allergies and sensitive skin and by babies. They do not contain any colourings or preservatives and are hypoallergenic, which means it contains no ingredients that cause allergies. Dermatological tests have confirmed that the detergents are well-tolerated by the skin.

On top of that, you should follow these 5 rules:

1. Carefully remove any labels that may rub against the skin before wearing.

2. Wash new clothes at least once before wearing.

3. Pay attention to the ingredients of a detergent: choose mildly scented detergents if possible (without allergens), detergents that are without preservatives, hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested.

4. When it comes to dosing, follow the manufacturer's instructions and do not use too much.

5. Use fabric softeners. They smoothen out the textile fibres and thus reduce friction on the skin.

THE PERFECT LAUNDRY RESULT IN 10 STEPS

1. Sort laundry by material, cleaning needs and colour.

2. Pay attention to the washing and care symbols on the sewn-in labels.

3. Pre-treat laundry with stain removers - this means you can skip the pre-wash cycle, which is good for the environment.

4. Load washing machine leaving one hand’s width of space at the top of the drum.

5. Select wash cycle according to basic laundry type: hot wash, coloureds, easy-care, delicates or wool.

6. Washing temperature up to 60°C is sufficient for clean laundry.

7. Choose detergent based on material (colour detergent for coloureds, heavy-duty detergent for whites, mild and wool detergent for delicates and wool, etc.).

8. Choose amount of detergent based on manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Add fabric softener for soft, fragrant laundry

10. Use the tumble dryer as little as possible, place particularly sensitive materials wet on a laundry rack and air the room regularly.
